William Dee Prater, 75, Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at his daughter’s home. He was a native of Cannon Co.
He is survived by his children, Jacquelyn (Kennon) Hooge of Hartsville, Gwendolyn (Ryan) Jones of Soddy Daisy, Stephanie Bonner of McMinnville, Gary Prater and Belinda Purvis both of Woodbury; siblings, Buford (Getta) Prater, David (Pam) Prater and Treva (Walkup) Warren all of Woodbury; Reta (Danny) Barney of Murfreesboro and Rose Holt of McMinnville. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Haskell “Sport” Prater and Tina Bell Prater; wife, Deborah Prater; grandsons, William R. Prater and Caleb Jones; brothers, Jackie Prater and Wayne Prater.
A member of the Baptist church, he was a truck driver for 58 years, enjoyed flea markets, working in the yard and spending time with his grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 2 pm Thursday, November 5, 2020 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Madison officiating. Interment will follow in the Centertown Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 12 noon until 8 pm Wednesday, November 4, 2020.
